ENGLISH VERSION
Patrick Bruel has always been an excellent actor and he leads with brightness "Le Prénom". Bernard Murat is directing this well-composed play by two young writers who usually work on movie or TV scenarios. [...]We have a very good time. In a pleasant set from Nicolas Sire, a beautiful space, surrounded by books on the wall, in the living-room of a parisian intellectual couple, teachers from the left-wing. Pierre (jean michel Dupuis) teaches at the university. Elisabeth (Valérie Benguigui) in a suburbs highschool. She has cooked a North African meal for their hosts: her brother, Vincent, succeeding in real estate, and his wife, the very busy Anne (Judith El Zein). She is pregnant. She just had an ultrasound. Make it three with Vincent's best friend,a musician, Claude (Guillaume de Tonquédec). The drama is set. You will not get all of those informations right away [...] How the dinner turns bad, what makes you laugh for one hour and forty minutes, that is the secret of a well-composed play and a direction as delicate as efficient. There is in Murat's work, two main things: an ideal distribution, everyone is well defined, everyone excels, everyone loves his character and highlights it naturally. And Murat, who loves actors, put the light on them better than anyone else. Patrick Bruel has always been an excellent stage actor. Critics had an eye on him way before he started making songs, and before the "Bruelmania". On stages, he has fun ! He is, in this particular play, amazing in his role of challenging everything and starting unpredicted storm. An amazing comedy, one of the best play this season in Paris. This is Theatre for every one! From the younger in their twenties to middle aged people who (re)discover the fun of "on stage" entertainment. And everyone's laughing ! so much ! Armelle Héliot, Le Figaro Théâtre.
The authors wrote a very efficient play. Even if the topic that launches the drama is common, it makes the following part even more interesting (an argument about the choice of a child to be born's name). The crescendo of this argument is perfectly measured, the dialogue is rythmic and a lot of lines are sharp. The audience is under the charm... Philippe Tesson, Le Figaro Magazine
A bright baby from the "New Boulevard" Theatre with very current issues and sharp dialogues. The Audience laughs a lot and at the end makes a standing ovation. PH. C. Les Echos
Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelliere, the two authors, are rookies on writing plays... but have much experience ! productive scenarists, they have produced a dynamic, blithe play which is based on series of hard changes, crescendo and upheaval. Laughs are all around the audience in the Edouard VII theatre and it makes you feel good ! Armelle Héliot, Figaroscope
[...] This comedy, led by a bunch of actors who handle the art of dialogues perfectly. Patrick Bruel leading all, at ease in this confident middleaged role, reveals all the unsaid, the lies, and the pettiness. Of course, that goes with damages, but this is what makes people laugh ! M. Delaporte and A. De La Patelliere are on their first play, but they wrote a good one, for a large audience. Frankly funny, a little bit caustic, on a good rythm, thanks to Bernard Murat' direction, this "Prénom" rises enthousiasm and ovation. Deserved. Danielle Attali, Le Journal du dimanche
